The third annual BlackBerry Developer Challenge has received growing interest from around the world since its launch. With less than a month left before the global deadline of 6th September 2010, Research In Motion (RIM) is encouraging developers to build applications for the BlackBerry platform and this year’s challenge is focused on finding the best ‚Super Apps.’
Designed to attract local talent, the Challenge offers developers prizes worth over US$1.5 million, including application promotion services, BlackBerry smartphones, BlackBerry App World marketing support and an elite membership to the BlackBerry Alliance Program.
Judges will look at the smartphone applications across four regions ‚ Asia-Pacific, North America, Latin America and Europe/Middle East/Africa. The apps will be evaluated in seven different categories: productivity, entertainment, knowledge, sharing, navigation, multi-media and ‚In the Know’. Applications will be judged on quality, user experience and how effectively they have incorporated ‚Super App‚ characteristics. Developers of applications selected at each finalist level will receive prizes.
