The Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL) this week is hosting its second Research and Innovation day as part of the university’s third annual Research and Innovation week.
The SBL is hosting the event to stimulate dynamic conversations around innovation and research. This year’s event, scheduled for Friday 7 March at the SBL Midrand campus, will zone in on South Africa’s potential to ramp up the country’s research and innovative capacity.
Speaking at the event, which is entitled, “Shaping the Future: Research and Innovation for the Nation” will be two thought leaders and practitioners in the research and innovation fraternities: Dr Sibisi and MacLean Sibanda. Dr Sibusiso Sibisi is the CEO and President of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and MacLean Sibanda the CEO of the Innovation Hub. Both Sibisi and Sibanda promise to fuel a frank discussion around the topics of research, development and innovation, which are not only pertinent to South Africa, but have relevance for the African continent.
The event will encourage participation in the form of questions and answers using a hashtag, coupled with an AV wall that will reflect all the event’s interactions. To enable a wider, remote participation, there will also be a webcast of the event.
The SBL is regarded as one of the top business schools in South Africa, having produced more than a third of all MBAs awarded in South Africa. The school’s flagship programme is the Master in Business Leadership (MBL).
