Africa’s first tablet-only daily newspaper, iMaverick, is now available on the iPhone and iPod touch.
The editorial team at iMaverick has been collaborating with local IOS publishing specialist, Snapplify, to bring iMaverick to the pervasive smartphone and portable media device market created by Apple Inc.
iMaverick CEO, Styli Charalambous, says: “We are thrilled to announce the availability of iMaverick on a greater range of devices. This opens iMaverick up to a bigger readership base and allows many more people to enjoy the great layout and content that SA’s smartest news read delivers every week day. The Snapplify team are ahead of their game and the development includes features and upgrades that we believe will prove pleasing to the kind of intelligent readers who own iPods and iPhones and who appreciate high quality journalism. We will be announcing the Android version of iMaverick very soon, which will also be available on tablets and smart phones.””
iMaverick, which launched officially on the App Store in October last year, and has seen a steady growth in subscriber numbers because readers enjoy iMaverick’s original, clever analysis of South African, African and worldwide news, and a range that covers everything from current affairs, to politics, lifestyle and sport. As a daily digital-only publication presented with a glossy magazine layout, iMaverick is the first of its kind in Africa, and third in the world.
