Vodafone Ireland has launched TV services, allowing its customers to view streaming content while out and about.
Mobile and broadband network operator Vodafone Ireland has launched TV services in Ireland under the brand Vodafone TV
“TV lovers can catch up, record and restart their favourite programmes at any point with the most versatile and seamless TV experience in the Irish market,” it said in a statement. “Customers can enjoy Netflix from their TV browser or simply at their fingertips with a dedicated button on their remote control. This easy to navigate service, coupled with Vodafone TV’s first-to-market features, provides an unrivalled viewing experience.”
As part of the Vodafone TV service, Vodafone is also launching a new TV Anywhere app where mobile customers can watch TV while out and about. This service is included in the price of the customer’s Vodafone TV package. Customers can also choose six months of one of Netflix, the Setanta Sports pack including BT Sports, or Free Multiroom.
Research commissioned by Vodafone revealed that viewers in Ireland are changing their viewing habits. One quarter of Irish adults now view TV content on-demand, and a further quarter embrace online streaming to fit into their busy lives.
“This demonstrates that people now want the flexibility to watch their favourite shows whenever and wherever they want,” ran the statement. “Vodafone TV enables customers to do just that.”

We’ve listened to our customers to understand what kind of TV service they want and we believe we are delivering great content with an excellent experience that brings convenience and seamless viewing from the home into the hand.”
Vodafone TV is delivered through IPTV, i.e. via high-speed broadband. It is only available to consumers who have Vodafone Broadband speeds of at least 40mbps. The Vodafone Basic TV package provides a minimum of 55 TV channels, with unlimited broadband and landline calls included for €40 for the first six months.
