Updated Jaguar I-Pace now in South Africa

The update adds new features to the interior, faster charging, and artificial intelligence-powered software options.

Improved driver assistance features

Visibility has been enhanced with a new 3D Surround Camera that provides a 360-degree digital plane view of the surrounding area and potential hazards, visible through the central touchscreen.

Inside the cabin, the ClearSight rear view mirror improves vision when three people are in the rear seats or with the 656-litre luggage compartment loaded up to the roof. The system uses a wide-angle, rear-facing camera linked to a high-resolution screen within the frameless rear view mirror. A toggle switch on the mirror allows the driver to switch between the view from the standard mirror and the camera feed.

The rear view camera is integrated into the roof-mounted antenna module. According to Jaguar the camera works in all conditions, including low ambient light, while a protective lip and hydrophobic coating helps repel water and ensure the camera lens remains clean.

Jaguar states that the air ionisation designed to remove allergens, also features a filtration system which captures ultrafine particles — including PM2.5 particulates — to improve occupant health and wellbeing. They claim that thus allows customers to use the I-Pace’s pre-conditioning system (which optimises battery temperature) to also remove allergens and ultrafine particles in the cabin before beginning a journey.

New options when configuring the car

A new atlas grey grille tip finish joins a new Bright Pack option, available on all models in the I-Pace range. The Bright Pack includes a chrome grille surround, Atlas Grey door mirror caps, satin chrome window surrounds and atlas grey for the rear diffuser. The Black Pack option includes the application of the gloss black finish to the rear badges, and a refreshed paint palette features colours such as Caldera Red, Portofino Blue and Eiger Grey.

Inside, customers can now option the enhanced Meridian 3D Surround Sound System with Trifield technology. The system features two additional speakers in the cabin headliner, resulting in a 16 speaker and a subwoofer arrangement .
