SA mappers join BlackBerry Alliance

AfriGIS, a South African provider of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Location-Based Services (LBS) solutions, has joined the BlackBerry Alliance Program as a Select Member, which allows it to further develop and distribute custom applications and services designed for the BlackBerry platform.

AfriGIS has joined the alliance program to further develop and distribute comprehensive business solutions including custom applications and services designed for the BlackBerry platform.

Making the announcement, Magnus Rademeyer, Managing Director at AfriGIS, said that joining the BlackBerry Alliance Program underlined its commitment to develop enterprise class solutions on the BlackBerry platform, with a specific focus on promoting the AfriGIS Forms technology for capturing field data.

‚The business development opportunities that such collaboration brings will unleash significant opportunities for AfriGIS,‚ said Rademeyer ‚It will unlock huge value for AfriGIS in terms of knowledge transfer and marketing exposure. This in turn will further enhance AfriGIS’ evolving mobile business solution offering going forward.‚

‚AfriGIS has a strong market reputation for developing leading and secure solutions for businesses looking to maximise their time- and work-flow management at the touch of a button, and this move will further cement that reputation,‚ said Rademeyer.

‚It will further reinforce AfriGIS’ pre-eminence as SA’s market leader in mobile business tools and give it the critical mass it needs to position itself for growth,‚ he added. ‚We are delighted to be associated with this programme.‚
