DxOMark has just published the results of its in-depth analysis of the Samsung Galaxy S10+ smartphone main and front cameras.
The Galaxy S10+ is Samsung’s brand-new flagship smartphone and comes with a triple-lens setup in its main camera and a dual-lens setup in its front camera. The front camera setup of the S10+ uses a secondary 8Mp sensor for depth sensing and for creating a simulated bokeh effect.
Achieving 109 points overall, Samsung Galaxy S10+ shares the top spot in our smartphone rear camera ranking with Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro.
The Galaxy S10+ scores 96 points on our recently-launched front camera benchmark, DxOMark Selfie.
For main camera still images, the S10+ comes with outstanding dynamic range as well as very good exposure, color, and bokeh simulation. The main camera is also capable of recording excellent video files, with pleasant color, good exposure, and smooth framing, thanks to very good image stabilization.
In stills mode for selfies, some highlight clipping can occur in high-contrast scenes, and colors can look a little dull in low light, but otherwise the S10+ does very well in almost any shooting situation. It’s even harder to find any flaws worth mentioning about the Samsung’s front camera video performance, making the Samsung Galaxy S10+ a deserving new front runner in the DxOMark Selfie ranking.
